Previous Kitchen Residencies at the Gipsy Queen
Below are some of the fantastic kitchen residencies we’ve previously hosted at the Gipsy Queen.
Chicago Rib Shack
In 2018 Chicago Rib Shack brought American flavour to NW5 with their amazing Burgers, Wings and Ribs.
Award winning Mexican Street Food kings Luardos brought their Taco-tastic menu to the Gipsy Queen in 2019
‘Mexican street food kings’ Luardos offer some very tasty, seemingly authentic, burritos, tacos and quesadillas, along with a selection of good looking sides. The food lived up to the review, full of flavour without being overly hot and spicy, which can be a cliché of so called ‘Mexican’ food, at least in the UK.

Cucina Rustica source the best imported Italian produce to bring the true taste of life in provincial Italy and Sicily.
Sho Foo Doh
During 2020 the amazing Sho Foo Doh provided un-classic Japanese street food snacks and dishes, as well as Hiroshima style Okonomiyaki.
Wow! What an amazing place. Looks like an ordinary pub. However, they got a beautiful beer garden, and extremely great food with inspiration from Japan. I had the pork okonomiyaki with two pale ales. Probably the best meal in London so far.
Andreas R ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I loved the cucumber pickles, with deep savoury notes of sesame. His deep-fried cauliflower is a revelation, crisp and crunchy from a panko batter.
Tom Moggach, Camden New Journal
A top independent pub belting out a bloody brilliant arrange of local brews, along with all the classics. I had the Japanese Fried Chicken Burger and was blown away. Service is prompt and friendly – will definitely be coming back soon!

Rack City Ribs
Rack City Ribs make London’s finest slow cooked ribs and soul food and did a fantastic residency at the Gipsy Queen during 2021
Best ribs ever had. Hats off to the chef. Rack City and ribs will be ordered again.

During 2021 our kitchen residency was the Nomad Brothers, Appo and Ibbo. Two Turkish chefs with a passion for Turkish food.
Specialising in meze and Turkish streetfood their flavourful dishes transported visitors to the Gipsy Queen directly into Taksim square.
The Turkish food is unreal. Decent options for pints as well.

Ibbo and Appo, moved to London a few years ago and their food marries authenticity with a contemporary twist for European palates. We started with the Borek – a crisp, thin rolled pastry with feta and parsley. It was fresh, light and superb with the garlicky tzatziki. An innovative meze dish titled Hummucidal Maniacs proved to be a fresh, flavourful medley of flat bread with hummus, chilli tomato and aubergine puree. Our mains included crisp falafels with a hint of warming sumac which had a homely touch, and my favourite – grilled aubergine with garlic and tomato accompanied by a wheat pilaf which offered smoky overtones.
